Wars & Battles

I have lived, died and been born again!! This is a very real experience. I think I finally understand the story of Jesus. Everyone has a story, just not everyone writes their book. And some will give up before the battle is over and there will be casualties in life's war. Our soul already knows how the story goes.

I consider myself to be very blessed that I am living this life and for all of the people that have chosen to stay in it with me. Now had you asked me four years ago if this is who I would be, I would have laughed in your face and told you to "fuck off".

I bet you wouldn't have guessed that I was wishing for a death of the final kind and on more than one occasion. Thoughts of suicide just lurking there in the shadows of my mind, but did you see it behind the smile? Did you see the me fighting an internal war? The fight I'm in to live my life, like you, in this once in a lifetime game of chance or choice.

I have been who I needed to be according to my perception of the world we live in and the experiences that have been. I'm not saying I'm not proud of who I used to be, I just see where I could be a little less mean and a little more sympathetic to the world that hasn't always been kind to me, but I see why it had to be that way.

I know we see the world differently, you and me; but it doesn't mean we don't experience similar things. I know we come in different colors and shapes, different genders and identities. We are all going through something, just some hide it better than others and you'd never see it through the lies they use to protect themselves, barely getting by.

We are living the same purpose in this not so random time and place. We are all given challenges and obstacles that are meant to create the best versions of ourselves and not tear us down or apart. Our demons a secret to be kept close to the heart because we live in a cold virtual world that wants to expose and shame us for our very reality.

We are meant to be an inspiration of victory to one another, witness to another day of survival in the cycle of life. We are all born with a story waiting to be written. We are writing history together every day, collectively. I believe this with all my heart.

But what exactly are we fighting for and why does it have to be so hard, you might be wondering. I think the answer is love. Love can be peace, love can be war, everything else is just a battle on the journey of life to make it worth living for. We are all warriors and if you have suffered the loss of a loved one to suicide, know that they too were a warrior, that sacrificed their life for me and you.

It was love that got me into this mess in the first place. It was love that found me crying in the dark and it was love that brought me back to life. It was love that held my hand and showed me that my life was worth fighting for. It is that very love I have chosen to live for. Unconditional love that is never ending. The love that finally filled the void. It does exist!

Love is the promise and the curse. We hurt because we love, and we love to hurt. It's built into our DNA. But I am here to tell you that it is in the pain that the most beautiful thing happens. I wish I could share the secret, but you won't understand if it isn't your time to learn the lesson and win your fight.

My story doesn't end here; I can testify my life has just begun. As one human to another, I ask that you hold on and share your story before you decide to give up the fight. Call me into battle and I will help you win your war. If you are struggling and have thoughts of suicide, please keep writing. You are important and your story matters to me.

You matter to the story of history. We are in this together. I promise if you take a look in the mirror and do the shadow work, life's ride becomes an exciting story that will take you places you never dreamed you go. It will free you and give you a story you can't wait to share with strangers and people you love. The ones that need you won't judge.

It doesn't cost anything to be kind. That's why abundance is found inside and not in the material things that are a distraction of mankind. Your story might save someone else's life. Thank you for being here to learn mine.
