When I started my journey with journaling, I never thought this is what would come from it.
Even if my English teachers didn't know it, I love the English language. All languages are beautiful in their own right. But the English language, it’s challenging and silly. Just like life.
A part of me has always like to write. When I was in high school, I liked to write anything but my assignments. I was smart, I just didn't apply myself. I wonder where I would be now had I just done the work back then. It's funny how we learn the lesson when it's too late.
As I got older, it just wasn't something I thought about. But then, Nightmare in Red happened and now my life is going in a whole new direction. Who knew I could do something I love and feel such contentment. It's like I'm on a path to something more. Something bigger than me!
I can see it now, years after I am gone, my grandchildren's children will be reading my poetry as school assignments. I want to thank those future kids who will actually do the assignment and those that don't. I understand. You are here to bend the rules and pave your own path.
I think all of the arts are important. The arts are what keeps the blood pumping for love and human connection. The rest of the stuff we learn is just white noise meant to keep us from loving one another. The other side of the scale that is meant to give us balance and compassion.
I was given the gift of gab and storytelling, but what I wish I had, was an eye of an artist or the voice of an angel.
As I was writing these poems, I kept thinking how words make people feel but so do pictures and aren't pictures worth a million words?!?! What if, just WHAT IF, I had poetic pictures to accompany the words on the page. How great would that be to take the audience on an entire adventure of each poem and take them on a poetic journey they can relate to?
Well, how was I going to pull that off when I put my outfits together like I'm color blind?
Well, find me someone with the eye of an artist and pitch the idea, hoping they think it's as good of an idea as I do.
Today, I want to send out my deepest and most heartfelt gratitude to Custom Web Design & Branding | Goodness Graphics for her dedication and commitment to this project. She agreed to more than just a client web design.
Her passion for artistry with graphics is what we need in this new world of technology. A true talent this world needs because she does it with the intention of bringing happiness to others. She sees the vision and brings it to reality.
Kally has brought every one of the poems to life with vivid colors and imagery that matched every possible idea I gave her. She took the time to sit with the words so that she could bring the poems alive and designed them to perfection meant to take the reader on a virtual vibration of healing.
Each visual was created to help put a less scary image to the human emotions we feel inside. The good, the bad and the ugly. The truth, the lies and everything in between.
Maybe one day, these beautiful visuals will be a book too. Until then, be sure to check out the collections pages here on my website a Blog inRhymes | inRhymes.com
There are poetic pictures just waiting to be seen by those that may need them at just the right time. You are never truly alone. You always have yourself to count on. You are enough.
Healing collectively gives us all a good place to start. You got this! I got this! We got this!
As for me, I just hope that anyone out there that feels scared and alone finds comfort and love here. I'm learning that we should not depend on other people to define us and that we must be responsible for our own stories. We aren't designed to be carbon copied.
We are all individuals (singular) on this journey, together. It is necessary for love, friendships, people and feelings to come and go.
We are alone. We come into this world alone and we go out alone. It is up to us to see this one experience through, on our own. I have found that I am happier when I love freely. Free from the expectations of others.
These experiences are the rhymes to life.
Thank you, Goodness Graphics, for the beauty you put into this world, through your hard work and dedication.
Love, Light and Goodness Graphics!
