Music is my muse. Today's randomly shuffled inspirational playlist as I type.

I am Music's voice.

I am the antagonist of one song and the protagonist in the next. I am the subject matter of the singer's heart. I am his or her every heart's desire. I am her that stole your woman and your man; and then left them both in the aftermath of heartbreak. I am the sexual desire and shame of times gone by. I am the who and what that brings these voices to life.

I am the muse.

I am the Nightmare in Red. I am the singer's pain for having been the fool again. I bring the dark to light. I am the one she longs for. I am the one that got away. I am her one hit wonder. I am the who that long for the song to end.

Without my love of music, I don't believe I would be able to find poetry in my life's moments, and I wouldn't be here with you.

Without music, I wouldn't haven't been brave enough to find my own voice and to use my words for the greater good rather than for only the good of me.
