Love Wins

... And nothing else matters. (Thank you Metallica)
I know this to be an absolute that when we stop long enough to walk a mile in another person's shoes, this is where change happens and love becomes the cure. I have come to believe when we set our ego aside long enough to see the other sides of the truth, something beautiful happens with intention and love sets us free from the broken cycles of life.
There are many other things I have learned on this journey, with the biggest ones being, I am grateful for the miles of my own shoes, and it is not up to me to judge you. I have been known to say there are three sides to the truth: My side, your side, (our side vs their side) and the vortex in between, wherein lies the story of what really happened to us, between us or for us.
It is when we are at our lowest that we need to take a deep look in the mirror to see the other side. It is here that we are set free from the patterns we repeat and the cycles we can't break. Sometimes, life will knock us down in hope we listen to the lessons each moment was meant to teach us. And if it doesn't bring us peace, it's okay to let it go.
Pain is not meant to cage or be a life sentence; but neither is love. It is up to each of us to keep from becoming the demons of another person's pain but rather to become more compassionate and understanding of others as well as ourselves. The human condition is not an easy one when you don't know the whole story.
I'm learning sometimes, we need to make a choice as to whether we let things go or hold on to them for dear life thinking we were right. Sometimes all it takes is just one I'm sorry and other times it may take a while; but don't wait too long or it will make you its prisoner, and you will miss out on the meaning of life.
Healing the hurt clears the air, and we learn to breathe again. It is when we take time and reflect in the darkness of our pain that we are given faith and learn to never underestimate the power of hope. To be able to believe that we are never truly alone, and to find comfort in our own heart space, we learn to shine our light and win at this one blessed life!
Time and patience, a sentence served. Judgements that were never meant to be a lifetime curse, but the key to a soul's freedom in a world that is designed to destroy love. But I'm here to tell you, don't believe the lies you are being sold; I got a letter from the future letting me know that love wins the end of the story and that is the universal truth.
But until then, let every day be a new beginning and in case nobody told you today, I love you and I'm glad you stayed.
Until next time,
T. McB
