Got the feels?

There is a song for that.

Happy, sad, angry, in love, Depressed? Getting married or divorced, did you lose someone close to you? There is a song for all of it! Isn't that wonderful?

What that tells me is that we are not alone. There is at least one band, one song writer, one musician, at least one other human, that has experienced something similar.

I am not the only person to go through life but it sure feels like it sometimes. There have been many before me and there will be many after. Music reminds me I am not alone on this solitary journey.

Well, let me tell you that I have a playlist of good times, bad times and everything in between and my story will have the best soundtrack! The arts are the expression of humanity and is at the center of the soul. Love lives here in all its forms and music is the one that is in the center of mine.

I'm not sure which "disorder" I would be labeled with if my playlist were ever questioned. Once I am given a song by someone, it becomes their theme in my head. It is the song that reminds me of them and of the memories we made together. The song keeps the love and friendship alive in my heart long after the memory is done.

If you have ever given me a song, you are replayed like a one hit wonder on my heart.

If you have given me a soundtrack, I play you on repeat and occasionally, I will hit pause to rewind the good times. If you know me and you are reading this, what is your song? Do you know?

I have lots of favorites and they all have their place, but I do have some that are higher on the chart list than others. The classics, the long forgotten, my number ones. One thing that remains the same is the story that each song tells and the way it touches a soul.

I will confess there is only one that can stop me in my tracks. Doesn't matter where I am, and within a note, I am down for that 3- or 4-minute count. My mind goes places I can't control, my heart beats like it’s recording new tracks that are made for only me.

The feeling taking me places I have been before and yet leading me to a place I have never dreamed I could go before! Every lyric like a story I have lived before with promises of better things to come. Like balm to my scars, a siren song that calls.

Love is a siren and music is its voice. I am powerless against its call. I am addicted to its sound and what it does to me. I can't resist its power, nor do I want to. I will follow the songs to the end of the road.
