Top Hits of '96

We are going to play a game today!
Guess the artist of the top songs of '96 that "inspire" today's inRhymes.

"Hey Lover",
'If I Could Write You a Letter', I believe it would go something like this.
Please "Don't Speak"
I find it "Ironic" that "It's All Coming Back to Me Now".
The magical feelings that come with the memories of that "One Sweet Day" and as I sit here, I smile to myself.
You are my secret I would never tell. You were for only me.
To this day, I have never repeated those words you gave me. I have kept them close to myself. I see now you were a blessing for the me who writes.
Every day, you were someone new to me. I kept waiting for you to "Give Me One Reason" to put you on my playlist of 'One Hit Wonders'.
I would "Wonder" "Where Do You Go" and how is it we meet every day at "The Crossroads" but I could never catch your "Name" or give you mine.
I was "Diggin' on You" and you became my "Fantasy". "Kissin' You" in '"Elevators (Me & You)", while you "Touch Me, Tease Me" in my mind.
I knew you could see it in my eyes that "You're Makin' Me High".
Every time you smiled, I got "Twisted" inside and wished I could stop "Time".
I didn't want to be just another conquest on the "C'mon N' Ride It (The Train)" and that you wouldn't "Always Be My Baby" but I hit a "Wonderwall" in my desire.
I was "Just a Girl" looking for her love song. "That Girl" "Closer to Free" and she believed in signs from "The Earth, The Sun, The Rain" that the universe would bring the right one to her.
"You Remind Me of Something" and yet such a mystery. Why wouldn't you ever speak to me? Did your silence save my life, did it plant a seed for a future love I couldn't see until I was ready to write the story?
Perhaps. "Nobody Knows" how the story would have turned out.
I wish I knew if your life turned out all right. I know now you were an angel delivering a message that I didn't hear at the time.
You weren't "Insensitive", you were a meal to savor; like "Breakfast at Tiffany's".
Your memory still plays on and has aged like fine wine. I find myself still 'Drunk on You' in my dreams and I pray your life has been as blessed as mine.
I would say "Thank you" for letting me know I was the most beautiful girl you had ever seen on earth and the rose was nice too. You left a poem on my heart and if you are still out there, this one is for you.
It's time to say good-bye, I'm letting you go.

The year I spent in lust with the boy on the bus summed up in the playlist of '96. Coming in at number four on the hitlist of one hit wonders, whose mark remains, even after all these decades.
Love, Light and Just a Boy on the Bus,

"The/My Boy on the Bus" can be found in the "Life's Vinyl" Collection
