It's hard to believe the book is here! I fell in love with each of these poems each time I read them in editing. In writing the words, I could not always love what was coming out onto paper as the moment was fresh and relived. Every poem is an experience I have thought about, played over and over again trying to figure out how things could have been different. With a word or a touch, would the choices have been the same? Where would it have taken me? So many questions in trying to figure out how I got from there to here, when I will become the person I'm destined to be? Am I her as I sit here and contemplate these words? As I feel the love, loss, forgiveness. whatever the emotion or feeling might have been, it was as if I lived it all over again. But each time, the feeling is less and I see something new in each encounter from a new lense. How could I have been better and what should I take with me for the next time.
This book closes the chapters of my childhood, adolescence and my early adult years. When I think about the poems that came from those times, I look forward to the poems to come from my present and future. May I stay on my path to enlightenment and to finding my soul's purpose by sharing it all with you. My life is an open book, literally.
Anyway, if you are out there and reading this, please let me know which ones are your favorites or favorite, and I would be happy to blog about it. Give a peek into the world of rhymes I've live in. I will give a song, a story and a peek into this person that I have become and the persons I've have been.
